'What's in it?' is LIVE!

1 July 2011 marked the start of Accord's voluntary household cleaning product ingredient disclosure initiative.

'What's in it?' provides information about ingredients used in household products to help Australian consumers make more informed choices about the products they use in their households.

'What's in it?' covers the following categories of household products:

• air care products
• automotive cleaners
• household cleaners
• household floor maintenance products
• laundry products

'What's in it?' complements Australian's strong system of product ingredient safety regulation: household cleaning products on the Australian market are regulated for safety via a number of independent, expert Australian government regulatory regimes.

Leading companies have embraced the 'What's in it?' initiative. These companies cover over 75% of the Australian market in the key product categories*

The following companies - all members of Accord - are voluntarily disclosing all ingredients in their products:

• Amway
• Colgate-Palmolive
• Helios Health & Beauty
• Kao
  
• PZ Cussons
• Reckitt Benckiser
• Unilever

Non-member company Aware Environmental has also committed to disclosing ingredient information through 'What's in it?'.
